MERF Institute of Speech and Hearing was privileged to contribute to the Hearing Wellness (Shravana Mangalam) Camp, organised in collaboration with Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute, held from 19–25 September in Chengalpattu.

The week-long initiative brought together professionals and community stakeholders with a shared commitment to promoting hearing and speech health, early identification, and timely access to appropriate care.

As part of the programme, the MERF team conducted hearing and speech screenings and audiological evaluations for more than 2,000 individuals, including school children and members of the surrounding communities.

Through initiatives such as these, MERF remains committed to extending quality hearing and speech-language services beyond clinical settings and strengthening community-based awareness, early detection, and intervention.

We are honoured to have been part of an initiative that brings healthcare closer to the community and advances the vision.

The faculties of MERF Institute of Speech and Hearing (MERF-ISH), Chennai, actively participated in the 23rd Annual Conference of the Cochlear Implant Group of India - CIGICON 2026, held from 4th to 6th September 2026 at Jaypee Palace Hotel and Convention Centre, Agra.

The conference, themed “Precision, Partnership & Progress in Cochlear Implant Care”, served as a premier platform for clinicians, surgeons, audiologists, speech-language pathologists and researchers to share knowledge and advancements in cochlear implantation.

Seven faculties from MERF-ISH participated in the conference: Prof. Ranjith Rajeswaran, Ms. Janani Jeyaram, Ms. Saranyaa G, Mr. Pachaiappan C, Ms. Anusha Rao S, Ms. Jaya Lakshmi P B, and Ms. Asvitha R.

Our faculties made significant academic contributions to the scientific program. They were part of 3 Round Table Discussions, 1 Panel Discussion, and 1 Consensus Café Statement, and 7 scientific papers were presented from MERF-ISH by the faculties.

The conference brought together ENT surgeons, audiologists, habilitationists and hearing-care experts from across India and neighbouring nations, providing a great opportunity for immense learning, meaningful collaboration and exposure to the latest innovations in the field.
